President of Belarus presents state awards

President Alexander Lukashenko presented state awards. 45 people of different professions are on the honors list. They have been awarded for personal achievements in industry, medicine and sports. Among the awardees are those who risked their lives for the sake of others. A lot of military and law-enforcement personnel were present. They are multiplying the glory of past generations, demonstrating exemplary performance of their duties and personal courage, the head of state said. He also stressed that the sovereignty of Belarus is secured by people who do their work every day, sincerely and honestly. The Belarusian leader congratulated everyone on the forthcoming Independence Day. After the ceremony the winners took a guided tour of the Palace of Independence.
