The practical part of the «Regional Security» computer-simulated command post exercise of the CIS united air defense system has been launched. It's the first time the exercise is held in this format. The rapid development of technology brought about the need to expand the list of tasks to counter new challenges and threats that the joint CIS air defense system is designed to address. The Military Delegates of the Coordinating Committee for Air Defense approved plans for joint air defense exercise at the Ashuluk training range in Astrakhan. The delegations of the Defense Ministries of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the CIS Executive Committee participated in the meeting.
