Pinsk replaced Novopolotsk as Belarus’ Cultural Capital

Pinsk has been declared the Capital of Culture of Belarus 2019, replacing Novopolotsk. The Polesie Region city was given a symbolic key, depicting 10 previous cultural capitals of Belarus. Pinsk was chosen not by chance. The city is rich in cultural traditions. It is also the lute music renaissance center of Belarus, and boasts 54 amateur art groups. In 2019, Pinsk will host over 400 various events, festivals, contests, regional, national and international expos. One of them, the cancellation of a postage stamp Pinsk – the Capital of Culture of Belarus 2019, has already been held.
