Orthodox believers celebrate Transfiguration of the Lord Savior of the Apple Feast Day

Orthodox Christians celebrate the Transfiguration of the Lord today! This is one of the twelve most important holidays after Easter, dedicated to the events of the earthly life of Jesus Christ and the Mother of God. During services, the priesthood wears white robes, symbolizing divine light. Popularly, the holiday is known as the Savior of the Apple Feast Day. The temples on this day consecrate the fruits of the new harvest. Savior of the Apple Feast Day also symbolizes the change from summer to autumn.
