On behalf of the President of Belarus, People's Artist of the USSR A. Pakhmutova was awarded the Order of Friendship of Peoples

On behalf of the President of Belarus, Ambassador of Belarus to Russia Aleksandr Rogozhnik has presented the Order of Friendship of Peoples to the composer, People's Artist of the USSR Aleksandra Pakhmutova. She was honoured with this state award on the day of her 95^th birthday for her significant contribution to the development of musical art, strengthening peace, Belarusian-Russian relations and cultural ties. The legendary composer Aleksandra Pakhmutova wrote music for many popular songs, which became significant in the fates of Belarusian stars. Including the magic melody of "Belovezhskaya Pushcha", which has been one of the symbols of Belarus for 50 years. The People's Artist of the USSR gave us "Nezhnost" and "Nadezhda", made the whole world cry when the Olympic Bear flew away. Her creative portfolio includes hundreds more songs, which she wrote together with her husband, poet Nikolai Dobronravov.
