93 sites with a total area of more than three million hectares will be included in the National Ecological Network of Belarus. Its concept was approved by the Decree of the Head of State. The network includes a system of natural complexes with special modes of use. It is designed to maintain the ecological balance and ensure the sustainable development of the territories. In particular, the document stipulates that the habitats of wild animals and plants included in the Red Book are transferred under protection. At all sites, waste disposals are prohibited.
