06.12.2018

Today Belarusian MPs voted for strengthening measures to combat the propaganda of Nazism and extremism. The updated bill establishes criminal responsibility for the intentional public rehabilitation of Nazism, along with the incitement of racial or social hostility. The Administrative Code will be amended as well. Thus, the manufacture, distribution and storage of symbols or attributes of extremist and terrorist organizations incur penalty. In case of the repeated violation of the law during the year, the penalty will be doubled. The amendments aim to make the law more efficient in terms of protecting public order and morality from spreading the Nazi ideology.
