Belarus has become the base for the training of rescuers of the CIS countries, said Belarus’ Minister of Emergency Situations Vladimir Vashchenko today at the session of the Interstate Council in Minsk. Representatives of the Commonwealth exchanged experience and considered current issues on protecting the population and territories from natural and man-made disasters. Cooperation in this area includes annual joint exercises and training of rescuers. Now specialists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are preparing for the all-around competition, which will be held in Kazakhstan. There they will practice the use of high tech devices in their work. And in September, Belarusian rescuers plan to take part in exercises in Serbia.
