Minsk hosts a meeting of the Council of Episcopal Conferences of Europe. This is the main event of the year for the Catholic Church of the continent with the participation of 45 countries. As the President stressed the day before at the meeting with the clergy, the council in Minsk is also the recognition of the Belarus’ policy of peace and accord inside the country and on the international arena. Alexander Lukashenko proposed to organize a meeting in Minsk between Patriarch Cyril and the Pope. The work of the Council continues until Sunday, foreign bishops will hold services in temples and chapels, and tomorrow the final document of the plenary session will be announced in the church of the Holy Trinity (St. Roch).
