According to scientific sources, in the period from the 1941 to 1944 600-800 thousand Belarusian Jews (about 80% of total Jewish population of the republic) were killed. The massacres began with the first days of Nazis arrival on our land and lasted till complete liberation of Belarus. In addition, our country has become the territory of Europe"s largest ghetto, where the deported Jews were killed. During all years of Holocaust 6 million Jews from different countries were destroyed. The events dedicated to the International Day of Remembrance of Holocaust started in Belarus yesterday.
