Meeting of Holy Synod to be held in Minsk for first time

Today in Minsk for the first time in the history of the Russian Orthodox Church, a meeting of the Holy Synod will be held. It will be headed by Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill. The day before, in the presence of thousands of believers, he consecrated the Church of All Saints in the capital. This is one of the first religious buildings, which was built after decades of atheism. The idea of building a church back in the 90s was supported by the President of Belarus. Paying tribute to the memory of all the innocent victims, in whose honor the church was created, the state participated in its construction throughout all the years. The consecration of the temple on the Feast of the Intercession is very symbolic – Belarus is under the spiritual protection of all the saints.
