Lithuania denounces customs cooperation agreement with Belarus

The document, which regulated customs relations between the countries for almost 20 years, will cease to be in force on 27 May 2025. The Lithuanian Foreign Ministry was officially notified about this by the Belarusian embassy in Lithuania. The agreement defined many areas — from customs control and information exchange to joint operations against drug trafficking. As stressed in the State Customs Committee of Belarus, the actual cooperation was already completed by the Lithuanian side 2.5 years ago. However, despite this unfriendly and demonstrative step, the Belarusian customs office offered possible options for cooperation until the last, which Lithuania ignored.
