Level of registered unemployment in Belarus decreases since the beginning of the year

The registered unemployment rate in Belarus has decreased by point two percentage points since the beginning of the year. The lowest level is observed in the capital city, as well as in the Homel and Minsk regions. At the same time, the number of unemployed persons registered in the country almost halved, from 22 to 12 and a half thousand. Most of them were able to find a job thanks to the state program and employment services, which helped them find newly created jobs, undergo retraining, or get free business subsidies. A record number of job fairs has taken place in the country. Thus, in the Mahiliou region alone the number of unemployed reduced by almost a half. This year an additional 5,000 new jobs are to be created in the region.
