Latvia closed checkpoint on border with Belarus

Latvia has closed the Silene-Urbany checkpoint on the border with Belarus. In fact, the border crossing turned into a roadblock. The road is blocked by concrete barriers and barbed wire. The Latvian government claims that they did this for security reasons, given the high number of cases of illegal border crossings. Now the only border crossing left with this Baltic country is Paternieki (Grigorovshchina on the Belarusian side).
