Infant and maternal mortality in Belarus achieved its historic minimum. In infants – this is 2.6 per 1 thousand live births, in mothers – 1.1 per 100 thousand, respectively. These indicators in Belarus are better than in the CIS countries and many countries of the world, including the United Kingdom, Denmark, Lithuania, Poland, and the United States. The survival rate of the children having extremely low body weight within their first year of life makes over 80%.
