High fire danger has been declared

Red alert due to fires has been declared today in three regions of Belarus — Gomel, Mogilev and Brest. Restrictions and bans have been introduced in almost all districts of the country. Forest guards are working with fire almost non-stop. The main cause of fires in forests is human carelessness. Rescuers remind that any spark can cause serious consequences. The day before, residents of the capital noticed the smell of burning and a light haze. This could be due to fire-prone weather conditions in the forests and marshes of the country, as well as inversion after extinguished forest fires, when warm air masses do not rise to the upper layers, but remain below and are carried by the wind across the territory. By the way, in the morning, the Ministry of Forestry reported that all night the forest guard was fighting a fire in Krupki district, Minsk region: a marsh and forest were burning. More than 150 forestry workers were involved in the liquidation.
