Head of State defines goals in improving Belarus state border security system

The Head of State has approved the resolution on state border security for 2018. After hearing the report on the situation at the border, Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that Belarus remains an island of security on the Eurasian continent. First of all, thanks to the fact that border security has been and will be a priority of the government policy. The main tasks of the Border Guards are to counteract terrorists entering the country, fight smuggling, illegal migration and drug trafficking. The top officials from the State Border Committee assured that the service is ready to meet these challenges, the border crossing procedures for people and cargoes will be improved, the monitoring system will be modernized, new technologies will be adopted.
