Grodno welcomed 50-thousandth visa-free tourist

Belarus' regional center Grodno saw a new record – the 50-thousandth tourist. It was a citizen of the Polish town of Augustow. The guest was congratulated by the regional administration and got memorabilia and an invitation to come to Grodno again. According to experts, the «visa-free year» was not only beneficial for the Grodno region in terms of improving its image, but also in terms of economy. The tourists spent there more than $10 million for shopping and rest. An average foreign tourist spends about 100 euro a day.
