Finals of the Republican Schoolchildren's Spartakiad started in Minsk

The Belarusian capital is hosting the main youth sports event of the summer. The finals of the XX Republican Schoolchildren's Spartakiad have started in Minsk. The grand opening took place at the stele "Minsk — Hero City". The guests of honour were representatives of relevant ministries and sports federations. The festive atmosphere was provided by famous artists, children's and youth creative groups. The finals will last until 26 June. During this time, about 1.500 young athletes will compete for awards in 12 Olympic sports.
