FIDE Chess School opens in Minsk

The Chess School has opened in Minsk after the reconstruction, the only one in Belarus licensed by the International Chess Federation (FIDE). About 200 children and teenagers study there. The school has been fixed up, with technical facilities and equipment updated. There is also a new tournament hall. During the opening ceremony, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the FIDE Chess School in Belarus and the Chess Queen Academy n.a. grandmaster Maya Chiburdanidze. In 2022 Minsk will host the World Chess Olympiad for the first time.
