Family Capital Program in Belarus to be extended for another five years and reformed

The family capital program in Belarus will be extended for another five years and reformed. The relevant instructions to the government were given during the President’s State of the Nation Address. A large-scale program of long-term support for large families has been in place since 2015. Family capital is assigned in the form of a one-time payment to the amount of $10 thousand at the birth of the third and subsequent children. During this period, more than 66 thousand deposit accounts worth more than $660 million have been opened. The terms after which the family will get access to the money will be revised. It is also planned to expand the list of needs which these funds can cover.
