Emission tomograph installed in Brest Regional Oncology Center

Advanced technologies in the fight against cancer: the newest tomograph appeared in Brest. Powerful equipment was installed in the regional oncologic dispensary. The device will help to determine an accurate diagnosis and detect cancer at the earliest stages. The laboratory will operate in 2 shifts. Up to 50 people can be examined per day. In total, 42 thousand patients with oncology are registered in the region. The cost of an emission tomograph is 455 thousand rubles. The equipment will also be used for so-called screenings – preventive examinations of the population.
