Elections to the local Councils of Deputies

The nomination of candidates for deputies of local councils will begin this week. The last day for submission of documents is January 8th. After that, registration starts, and then the active phase of the election campaign begins. Each candidate will be able to have up to five authorized representatives. Candidates from political parties, labor collectives and those who collected enough signatures can be nominated for deputies. Today the formation of the district commissions is being completed in Belarus. The first meeting should take place already this week. Elections to local Councils of Deputies are scheduled for February 18th.
