Christian Orthodox believers celebrate the beginning of the Great Lent today. For seven weeks from now on, believers refrain from eating meat and dairy products. However, the main thing is not the rejection of certain types of food, but the purification of the soul and reconciliation with oneself and the world. This is a time of strengthening the spirit and inner renewal. The Lent will last until the Easter Sunday. Orthodox Christians will celebrate Easter this year on April 19.
