A ceremony commemorating the heroic American citizen Ruth Waller was held in Minsk. Citizens of Belarus, representatives of the United States and the United Nations came to honor her memory. 24-year-old Ruth Waller helped revive Minsk after the war. Thanks to her work on the organization of supplies of equipment, products, clothes, medicines to Belarus, thousands of people were saved. In the summer of 1946, Ruth managed to pull three sinking children out of the water. But after that she became ill and, despite the efforts of the doctors, she passed away. The Minsk secondary chool №130 bears the name of the American Ruth Waller, secretary of the first UN humanitarian mission in Belarus.
