Battle axe aged as Old Russian state found on banks of Western Dvina

A battle axe aged as the Old Russian state was found on the banks of the Western Dvina in Vitebsk region. The rare artifact was discovered by a fisherman from Old Village. Scientists of Vitebsk State Universitynamed after Peter Masherov helped determine the age of the instrument. The finding dates from the 13th - 15th centuries AD. To this day a part of the wooden shaft of the axe preserved, it is made of oak.
