The 22nd meeting of the Statistical Council of Belarus and Russia took place in Nesvizh. Participants discussed key areas of digital transformation of statistics, modernization of official statistics, and the integration of data from alternative sources into statistical production using mobile positioning as an example. Active work is currently underway to align the statistical systems of the two countries. Participants noted that this will form the basis for decision-making in the economic and social policies of the Union State. The parties have already begun developing a methodology for comparing the countries' GDPs. Following the meeting Belstat and Rosstat signed a plan for joint compatibility activities in statistical methodology for 2027-2029. The document outlines strategic areas of work for the next three-year period.
