The official opening ceremony of the Belarusian residential quarter took place in France's Villerupt. It was named after Jean-Emmanuel Gilibert, an outstanding physician and biologist, who was born in France and lived in Belarusian city of Grodno. The wooden houses were produced by the Domostroenie branch of the Shklov Newsprint Plant. A memorial plaque assigning the name of Giliber to the quarter was solemnly unveiled by Ambassador of Belarus to France Pavel Latushka.
