Belarusian MPs have adopted amendments to the Housing Code in the first reading. Among the innovations is the possibility of transferring rental housing into social housing, which means that owners will have to pay bills for housing services only. The right will be granted upon those who have been on the waiting list for social housing. Today, half of the apartments from the state fund are rental units. And this housing will grow by at least 90 thousand square meters per year. Among other issues on the agenda is additional protection of the rights of residents of houses scheduled for demolition.
