About 85% of investments in science are channelled to applied research. In the ranking of prosperous countries in 2016 Belarus ranked 37th out of 163 countries in the category "Science and technology". This year Belarusian scientists plan to start production of a new remote Earth sensing satellite BKA2 with a resolution of up to half a meter. It is also planned to develop a new line of cutting-edge unmanned aerial systems, 3D-printing, and other things.
