Plans are in place to develop a code of a civil servant in Belarus, Head of the Belarus President Administration Natalya Kochanova told the media after the meeting with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko. The Head of State suggested toughening the requirements for civil servants before taking measures to raise the prestige of civil service. The country needs broad-minded specialists who can determine strategic tasks and correctly evaluate the consequences of their decisions. But first of all, a civil servant is a personal with high moral principles. There should be no corruption in the state apparatus, Alexander Lukashenko said. He added that a large-scale optimization of the number of civil servants has been conducted recently. The number has been reduced by one fourth and now slightly exceeds 30,000.
