Belarus strengthens government support for orphans and large families in addressing shortage of housing

Belarus has increased government support in the construction of housing for certain categories of citizens. The decree was signed by the President the day before. Thus, for orphans, the size of the subsidy to repay the principal debt on a commercial loan has been increased from 35 to 50%. In addition, half of the debt will be repaid free of charge also for families raising disabled children. And if such a family is also a large one, it will receive a priority right to receive state support. Another presidential decree regulates the norms of shared-equity funding of housing construction. The most notable innovation is that large families will have a priority. This will reduce the waiting time for new housing.
