Over 37,000 social service workers provide daily assistance to mothers with multiple children, the disabled and the elderly, with particular attention paid to young mothers support.11,500 Belarusian families applied for family capital last year. Child care allowance for children aged under three years has nearly doubled in recent years.Today Belarus is home to about 150 permanent social service centres, 20 houses in multiple occupation, 22 family-type homes and about 80 day centres for the elderly, where they study English and master the Internet free of charge.
