Belarus: securing Sustainable Development Goals

Ways to secure sustainable development goals are discussed today in the Parliament. The Council of the Republic hosts over 100 MPs, officials and diplomats. They will consider the implementation of the goals in the economic, environmental and social spheres, including through the public-private partnership mechanisms. The direction of further activities to achieve the goals in Belarus will be determined. Two years ago, the UN adopted the Agenda for Sustainable Development until 2030. It includes 17 goals aimed at eliminating poverty, combating inequality and resolving climate problems. Belarus has already taken a number of important steps in this direction. In particular, the government approved the National Strategy for Sustainable Social and Economic Development until 2030.
