On 19 June, 1944, the village of Dalva was burned down along with its inhabitants. It is called the "sister of Khatyn". In memory of the victims of the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War and the fascist aggression, a memorial was opened in 1973 on the site of the destroyed Dalva. Today, the memorial complex traditionally became the site of a requiem rally, which brought together representatives of local authorities, public and patriotic organizations, young people and a delegation of the Belteleradiocompany. At the origins of the creation of the monument of Dalva stood the employee of the Belteleradiocompany Nikolai Girilovich — a young resident of Dalva, who was caught by the tragedy of his native village at the age of 13 and who survived that terrible tragedy.
