This week Belarus recalls the tragedy of Khatyn. 75 years ago, on March 22, 1943, the Nazis burnt the village together with its inhabitants. The Press House in Minsk hosted a meeting of historians, archivists, journalists and representatives of public organizations, where some new figures were voiced: according to the documents from the National Archive of Belarus and the KGB archive, from 1941 to 1944 on the territory of our country the Nazis burned more than nine thousand villages, four thousand more than the earlier data suggested. The event's highlight was the presentation of the book «Khatyn: The Tragedy of Belarusian Villages».
