Belarus plans to introduce a deposit refund system on
glass containers. This is provided by the national strategy for the management
of solid municipal waste and recyclable materials until the year 2035. The
government approved it in August. Improvement in accounting and logistics
system for handling municipal waste, as well as regulatory framework are also
high on the agenda. The goal is to bring the level of use of secondary material
resources to 50%. Today, this figure is 12%. From October, the municipal waste

will be closed. Today, there are many alternative ways of recycling and
processing. Experts will choose the best option for the Belarusian capital. In
particular, it is planned to build a garbage recycling plant in Minsk.
