Belarus launches Victory Day celebrations

Belarus launches celebrations of the 73rd anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The President has congratulated the nation. Alexander Lukashenko expressed special gratitude to the veterans. A solemn meeting and a festive concert will be held today in the Palace of the Republic. At 7 pm the Victory Park will host the performance by Turetsky Choir as part of the «Song of Victory» action. On May 9 in Minsk, the celebrations will begin with the laying of wreaths and flowers at the Victory Monument. Concerts, fairs and sports events will be held in all cities of Belarus. At 11 pm the sky above the capital and regional centers will be lit with festive fireworks.
