Belarus joins Antarctic Treaty

Belarusian polar explorers will be able to participate in talks on the future of the world's southernmost continent. Our country is preparing to join the Antarctic Treaty as a consultative party. The application is prepared by the Republican Center for Polar Research. The consultative party status will allow Belarus to influence global decisions on the continent. In addition, it implies freedom of scientific research, as well as closer links with the global scientific community. Now the treaty includes 54 countries.
