Belarus and Russia are negotiating cooperation in exploring Earth"s polar regions, the main directions being logistics, research programme implementation and transportation support. The parties have agreed to deliver a 40-ton Belarusian cargo to the shores of Antarctica for next season and discussed further construction of the Belarusian polar station. 12 infrastructure facilities are planned to have been set up by 2020, which will allow working in the Antarctic all the year round. This year"s expedition is scheduled to start in November.
