The turnout at the presidential election was 85.7 %. Five candidates, including the incumbent President, ran for the post of the head of state. Here's how the votes were distributed: chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus Oleg Gaidukevich got a little over 2%, individual entrepreneur Anna Kanopatskaya — 1.86%, incumbent head of state Aleksandr Lukashenko — 86.82%, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus Sergei Syrankov — a little over 3%, chairman of the Republican Party of Labour and Justice Alexander Khizhnyak — 1.74%. Just over 3.5% of voters voted against all of them.
