Belarus developing law on personal data protection

A law on personal data may appear in Belarus. Its project is planned to be submitted to the Parliament in April. According to the law enforcement agencies, the number of cybercrime increased by 53 percent over the last year. One of the most common is theft with the help of computer equipment, and hacking accounts. The new law will regulate the issues of terminology and determine how personal data can be used and protected. Also, from September the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will train specialists in the fight against crimes in the field of high technologies.
