Belarus checking fire safety condition of housing stock

Specialists of the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services of Belarus are monitoring the fire safety condition of the housing stock. Working groups survey houses across all regions of the country. Particular attention is paid to the cellars and attics in high-rise buildings. In the town of Slonim, where about a hundred multi-apartment houses have been checked, the inspectors found major violations of fire safety rules that could lead to tragedies. Housing monitoring has already been carried out in the Minsk, Brest and Hrodna regions. Vitebsk, Mahiliou and Homel will come next. Following the inspections, information on violations will be sent to local authorities for further action.
