Belarus celebrates Victory Day

On May 9, festive events in honor of Victory Day were held in all regions of Belarus. Over 15 thousand people took part in the solemn procession dedicated to the Great Victory Day in Vitebsk. A rally was held at the memorial in honor of Soviet soldiers, partisans and underground fighters, and fresh flowers were laid at the Eternal Flame. Victory marches sounded on the streets, parks and squares of Vitebsk.

In Brest, festive fireworks were fired over the heroic citadel. Hundreds of people came to honor the memory of its defenders and say words of gratitude to the veterans. The Brest Fortress was the first to fall under the Nazi rain of lead, but it was also the first to take a step towards Victory.
