Belarus celebrates Mother's Day

Belarus celebrates Mother's Day today. Traditionally, on the eve of the holiday, women who gave birth to and worthily raised 5 or more children are awarded the Order of Mother. More than 9.5 thousand mothers in the country have this honorary title. The “family capital” program increased the birth rate of third and subsequent children in Belarusian families by one third. At the moment, more than 74 thousand deposit accounts have been created. By a presidential decree, the program was extended until December 2024. The rules for using the deposit have been amended. For example, parents can use the funds in some cases before the child comes of age.
