Today Belarus celebrates the Fire-Fighting Service Day. The history of rescuers in our country began as early as late 15th century. And on July 25th 1853 fire brigades were set up in major cities, and the date became a landmark. Over the years, the service has changed dramatically. Today, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus carries out the full range of emergency response operations, from elimination of fires to accidents control at oil and gas pipelines. On the average every day Belarusian rescuers give a second chance to 16 people. Thousands of expertly trained professionals stand ready to help at any moment.
