Antarctic studies discussed in Minsk

Climatology, microbiology, geology and the study of the ozone layer. The importance of research into these fields for global science and the contribution of Belarusian researchers to the economic development of the country were discussed at an international conference on the study of Antarctica. The event was attended by 60 experts from all over the world, including New Zealand, Great Britain, Norway and Turkey. In the near future, Belarusian scientists will have to finalize the program of Antarctic research and determine with the dates of the expedition, which will spend the winter in Antarctica. Last year the second facility of the multisectional Belarusian polar station was completed.
