Amendments to Belarus’ healthcare law pass first reading

The House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus has passed amendments to the healthcare law in the first reading. According to the document, chief physicians of state medical institutions will be appointed and dismissed by the Healthcare Minister. The draft law provides for the development of a healthcare quality management system. The quality of each case of medical assistance will be thoroughly examined. The amendments define the accreditation procedure for state-run hospitals and clinics. If the institution is not accredited to provide assistance, it will not be financed from the state budget.
