Memorial tablets with the names of 258 Soviet soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War have been unveiled in Austria. The ceremony took place in St. Pölten, the capital of Lower Austria. The event was timed to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the city from the Nazis. Delegations of the embassies of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan took part in it. The opening of the memorial is only a part of a series of commemorative actions, which are held by the local authorities together with the embassies of the CIS countries in Austria in honour of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
