The history of the village of Yanopol was restored in 2024 during the investigation of the criminal case on the genocide of the Belarusian people. The fascists exterminated about 20 families here on 30 September 1943. The reason for such a brutal act was the loss of weapons from a German soldier. The Nazis broke into the houses and shot everyone. Few escaped. Burned Yanopol disappeared from the map of Belarus, but forever remained in the memory of eyewitnesses of those terrible events. Their stories, archive documents, research data form the basis of the book "Genocide in Zhabinkovshchina". The presentation of the book took place on the day of the memorial sign unveiling.
